Why Doesn’t Cézanne’s Table Line Up?
The two edges of Cézanne’s table do not seem to agree. In The Basket of Apples (c.1893), infrared evidence, colour and changing contours help explain why a convincing still life can resist tidy geometry.

This film is scheduled to appear on The Art Detail. The source trail is available here while the release is being prepared.
